March Newsletter
Welcome to March!
Congratulations to all of our divers for a very successful meet. It was a beautiful weekend and I loved watching everyone compete, get their awards, and make lasting memories with their teammates and new friends from other teams.
Now that we are in competition season, there are a lot of busy weeks and weekends. The Mission Viejo meet is splitting novice and JO into two separate weekends. This is a USA Diving sanctioned event so if you do not have a USA Diving membership and would like to compete, you will need to purchase that membership ASAP. The membership is good through the end of the year so you will be eligible for all local USA Diving events. You only need to purchase the 17U Athlete membership for $43. You do NOT need to purchase the competition membership until we get closer to the regional meet and determine if you will be attending. So, for now, please just purchase the $43 membership if you would like to compete at the Mission meet later this month. Please note, if you do attend, make sure you click the correct coach on your chosen weekend. Kate will attend the novice meet and Shane will attend the JO meet.
If you have not completed the 2025 registration form yet, please complete and submit the form as soon as possible. CLICK HERE for the registration form. I will be reaching out individually to those who have not completed this form.
We will have tower practice this month, Saturday, March 1st from 10-12 & Saturday March 15th time TBD. The cost for tower practice is $30.
Our monthly calendar is live on Instagram so please check it regularly as it has the most up to date information also can be viewed in the email or on this website under events.
We plan on attending AAU Nationals this year in mid-July. The location has been determined and we are so excited that it is local this year. YAY! AAU Nationals will be in Riverside and although they are still working out all of the details, we at least know where it is. We also plan on attending USA Diving Regionals, Zones, and Nationals. We will attend Region 12 in Riverside - April 25-26 (yes, this is a Friday and Saturday) - there will be an optional tower invitational on April 27 but is not necessary to progress to Zones. More information to follow. We will attend Zones in Midland, Texas - June 12-15. Several families have already booked a refundable hotel room. Coach has also booked his room. Nationals will be in Mission Viejo the end of July/beginning of August. If you plan on attending Regionals for USA Diving, you will need to upgrade your USA Diving membership to a competition athlete. There is no need to do that now as you may upgrade immediately prior to event registration. I will send out many reminders. Also, following USA Nationals, we will be on break for 2 weeks.
